The World is doomed

Over at The Superficial.com the first preliminary sketches for the Paris and Nicky Hilton cartoon are out. As if we don't get enough of these self confessed meglomaniacs already... The author comments:
It's hard to imagine the Hilton sisters pulling off a successful cartoon, since the Japanese already have the animated sex market covered. Maybe they'll throw in a few extra tentacle rape scenes and change the description from "cartoon" to "documentary."

Here's one of the sketches.

However, I don't think they should be using these caricatures. I have an alternative character model they should use, something designed by ... er,

lets see...

hmmm...
John K, maybe??

Awesome caricature of what John calls Beautiful People. Check out the other hilarous sketches on his site.

One year and three weeks on

While doing some modifications to this site, I suddenly realised that I have been blogging since March 02 2005 - HOLY DROP SHADOW BATMAN! (okay, I've been a bit photoshopped out lately)
But I am quite impressed that I have managed to keep this up.
So for one year and 57 posts - lets see how many people have commented...

Hmmm....

Okay, so..
plus the two...
carry the one.

Then double..

Aaargghhhh - I dont believe it
Five comments... five little comments, is that ALL????
Not only is that all but two of them were spam!

Happy birthday LOSER!!!!

ASIFA Hollywood needs your help!

ASIFA Hollywood Animation Archive Project - needs our support, please visit the sight and have a look around. If I can just get a few people via my blog to assist it will be a few people more than before... er yes, that makes sense.

They are doing great stuff in preserving the history of animation.

Take a look and maybe you can help out, you never know.

Want to waste some time?

Then play this game.
Horribly addictive and even more horribly enjoyable, Put up walls, use the eraser when you make a mistake. Scatter the scenery with plants and if water hits then watch them grow. Chuck a bit of fire in the soup to watch your plants burn away and your Oil go up in flames.

Snakes on a Plane

Yes, you heard me, Snakes on a plane.
This has to be one of the coolest Titles to come out of Hollywood, what could possibly be any better than this. Snakes on a plane was apparently the working title and when they were thinking of changing it to Pacific Air Flight 121 or something like that Samuel L. Jackson said he would not work on the film unless they called it "Snakes on a Plane" - now I am sure he added an expletive somewhere between Snakes and Plane but lets just leave it at that.

I read this hilarious blog entry relating to the title of the movie, how a writer potentially brought in to fix a few corners of the script loved the title and the subsequent executive decisions that caused him to leave the movie.

Here's some spinoff merchandise no way related or connected to New Line Cinema. Damnation and Topatoco

Adobe Acrobat goes 3D

For the future PDF creators, here is the latest from Adobe.
Acrobat 3D.
Rotate, zoom and watch as the 3D model is brought to life within a simple
PDF.

All together now!

Oooohh!!

Apple to buy Disney

Heard the other day around the net.

This does not make sense though since why would Steve Jobs sell Pixar to
then essentially buy it back again, unless he gets both companies for a
sweeter deal.

Hang on - this is starting to make sense.

Owner of company A (APPLE) sells of company B (PIXAR) to company C (DISNEY)
to negotiate a deal where owner gets on the board of Directors of Company C
to then sell both B and C back to A. Where B and C is creating huge content
to sell from A. oooh cunning little man is Steve.

Amazing Game of the Future

Seen this recently at Odforce. WOW.. Holy... hoo boy. Its a game in development called "spore", and is created by the mastermind behind Sim City.

I might just have to buy this game when it is released, now I haven't bought a PC game since The Incredibles and before that I think it was Wing Commander IV or V, not too sure. But you get the idea I do not buy games.
This one on the other hand is simply jaw dropping ass kicking brilliant.

The depth and level of different outcomes could have me hooked for months. I always enjoyed playing games like Sim City, Sim Ant, Populous and Civilization. This is like playing all three in one big UBER-Game. Check it out.

Here's an image posted at Ferrago.com

And on another note. This link for a Charles and Ray Eames film.
The power of ten. Interesting..

EDIT: Just found this link regarding the game "Spore". The author just explains that this is not a true reflection of evolution and why shouldn't we be able to play to be the best squid we can be.

UPDATE: While thinking of the extent of this game, I suddenly remembered an article in PC Gamer from a few years back where Peter Molyneux was talking about Black and White and in this he said he was developing a game which the player could go from the smallest view of an amoeba to the furthest reaches of Space...
Hmmmm. Sounds too familiar. I wonder if Will Wright read this article and beat Pete to GDC - Game Developers conference.

Walk

This is a character I built and rigged to practice my animation, just did a quick walk test with the rig to test.

More Z-heads

So here is another quick head "sketch" in ZBrush and quick render in XSI.

I am very impressed by Jeremy Engelmans Life Zbrushing. How instead of Life Drawing, they do three hour Zbrushing with live models. Only in California. Oh, and the fact he works at Dreamworks
