SPIDERMAN 3

To all the people at SPI and the other VFX houses that worked on the latest Spiderman... WELL flippin' DONE!!!
I was absolutely blown away on Thursday when I got to see a special review screening of the third and best movie in the Spiderman Trilogy. Every bit more enjoyable and impressive than the last one.

****SPOILERS****

Here are a few of my favourite moments:

- The animation of the black alien simbiote web thingy - creepy!

- The bit when Harry and Spidey are fighting and he runs into the spidey chokeline.
Flips backwards hits his head and falls to the ground. Camera work, sound FX and what I imagine was Digital Doubles - brilliant!

- The demoleculisation of Flint Marko with the formation of molecule / crystals in his brain (DNA) - way cool!

- The shot when Sandman reaches for his daughters locket and the sand hand crumbles as he is yet to gain control of his powers. A few shots later when he tries to stand on a crumbling leg - great stuff!

- When Peter turns bad, Tobey can be a bit annoying sometimes but I had a good laugh when he's trying to act cool - funny!

- The defeat of Venom, ( this would also include the shot where Peter Parker excapes the simbiote ) all the shots where the creature explodes and distorts as the bells ring - cool!

What did I not like??? The British Reporter at the final two on two battle scene - STOOPID. Oh and Sam Raimi giving his entire family bit parts - cut to kid saying "Its wicked awesome" ... cut to girl selling camera to J. Jonah Jameson.
But I suppose after making three of these blockbusters (jumping to obvious conclusion on this last one) he can pretty much do what he likes. Like having scenes with KD (Kirsten Dunst not the C&W lesbian) singing - boring!
